I always loved Show and Tell at school! Did you have that too? Well, today's Show and Tell is hosted by Kelli at There is No Place like Home. I see there are already over 40 participants so check those out!
I've been showing you glass and pottery so I thought it was time for a change of pace. Let's take a look in my Guest Bathroom. Bet you didn't see that coming did you?
I love vintage and the vintage look. I wanted to reproduce that look in my Guest Bath. I wanted a clawfoot tub and not a new one acrylic. I wanted the old tub. Remember I mentioned we have a friend who deals in "junque"? Well, Mr. Dumpling came home one day and said he had found THE tub.
Well, I promise you it didn't look like it does now. The feet were not in a good shape and the tub was not really white. We found someone who restores tubs and he did such a good tub. I didn't realize at the time but this size is very hard to find. It's a 4 ft. tub...so cute!
Above the tub is my Diamond Dye cabinet. Mr. Dumpling found it over in Nacogdoches, TX and it was a Christmas present one year. This would have been in a General Store. The front opens for the customer to view the dyes. The back has sliding doors for the store clerk to stock it.
The porcelain soaps were found at a garage sale just two doors down from my old house.
The little heart shaped mirror was an eBay find. You have to love eBay!
I love the little petticoat shade on the lamp. We have several of those and I love the extra touch it gives to the old lamps.
The chandelier is very hard to photograph. It's a soft pink and cream and was an Internet find.
The mirror over the lavatory was a hideous gold/blackish hard to describe color. However, I loved the detailed work on it so I painted it white. Voila!
Well, come back to the kitchen. We'll have some nice Community Coffee which you must drink if you live in LA. I've got some Italian Creme creamer that makes it just yummy. I'll save you a seat by the fire!
