Blue Monday - 2/9 - Romantic Figurines

I can't believe a week has flown by since our last Blue Monday. As always, our hostess with the mostest is Smiling Sally. Be sure to go to her blog to find all the other Blue Monday bloggers.

Valentine's Day is almost here! I'll show some of my Valentine decorations for Tablescape Thursday and Friday Show and Tell. Today, let's take a look at some of my favorite romantic figurines.

I love old figurines. Today's figurines just don't have the same vintage faces, the coloring of the old ones.

Many years ago, Mr. Dumpling went to an estate auction by himself. I usually don't let him do this. He's still a "man" after all and can make some strange purchases. However, he came home with these!

They each stand almost 10" tall and are marked "Hand Painted Japan".

The detailing is amazing. His suit is a deep navy although it looks black in the pictures.

Notice he has his hat in one hand and flowers in the other. I think he's ready to propose!

Her dress has beautiful details in shades of blue, aqua and a soft yellow.

She's playing a little coy but I bet she says "yes"!

Last year, we found the sweetest little double ink well. You don't see the double ink wells very often and not in such excellent condition. It was made in Austria.
Her little dress is the softest blue with a little green bonnet. So sweet!

Aren't the little faces just adorable?

Both sides are hinged for the ink well to open.

The last couple were a find in a local shop. They are made by Ucago (Japan).

These were from Mr. Dumpling. I had admired them in a local shop. They "spoke to me" because of the little violets on her dress. I'm a Feb. baby and have always loved violets!

Have you pulled out your romantic items? Is love in the air at your home?

All of these figurines spoke to me! They are so pretty, and you're right, their faces have personality, unlike some that are made today. I loved the "proposal" set. Those colors are amazing. Thank you for sharing these. laurie
