I'm running late for Tablescape Tuesday but I firmly believe better late than never. A lot going on here so I haven't been focused.

Today, I'm not doing an actual tablescape. I'm going to let you plunder in my kitchen cabinet! I have been a "plunderer" since the day I was born.
Fortunately, Ma Vera (paternal grandmother) encouraged me. I had such fun finding "treasures" such as pictures, cards, Avon bottles, doilies...and the list goes on. She had the best places to plunder!
So today, let's a take a look in one of my upper kitchen cabinets. We'll start on the top shelf. The plates you see in this close-up are hand painted Blue Ridge pottery. Blue Ridge Pottery was located is Erwin, TN. from 1920 - 1957. It was a very reasonable priced pottery...which is no longer true. Just ask any collector!
It was sold by Sears, given away in gas stations and super markets, and used by Quaker Oats hot cereal in their promotions. A home party plan, Stanley Home Products gave sets of Blue Ridge as hostess gifts.
This top shelf holds dinner plates and salad plates in the Ham and Eggs pattern. I just love the humorous theme. They are hard to find and I would love to add to it.
Also on the same shelf is a green Depression glass round parrot butter dish. These are very hard to find and Mr. Dumpling was very happy to find this one in such good condition.
Let's jump down to the next one. Blue Ridge again! This is a sweet pattern with a yellow spongeware background. I love the vivid colors of the barn and the apple trees.
On that same shelf are two Green Depression Glass syrup pitchers.
On the bottom shelf is one of my favorite pieces. It's the Smiley the Pig milk pitcher made by Shawnee Pottery.
I think he is so cute! We've seen him as high as $295.00 but paid under $100 for this little piggy! He stands about 8" tall and just makes me smile.
On the same shelf are my Lenox Butler's Pantry square luncheon plates (great sale at Belk's) and Green Depression Banana Split dishes.
I enjoy thinking of a time when these dishes would have been on an early morning breakfast table. Cute hand painted plates holding pancakes, bacon, biscuits...cold milk served from Smiley and warm maple syrup from the green syrup jars. Let's not forget fresh churned butter in the Parrot butter dish.
Now here's the fly in the ointment...who did all that work?
