Blue Monday - 4/6 - Blue Birds

It's a windy cold but sunshiny Blue Monday here in LA. For more Blue Monday posts (and you never know what it will be!), go to Smiling Sally. Fun, Fun!

I'm running really late today with my post. I have been wanting to gets pictures of the blue bird nest again but Momma Bird was staying in there. Well, she's been busy. If you remember, the last time I got to look, we had two eggs.

Well, after our walk today, we peeked in. Wow!

The eastern bluebird is the only one of the 3 bluebird species regularly found in Louisiana. Bluebirds are usually found in fields, open woodlands, parks or along golf courses or other open areas, including suburban locations with open spaces and scattered tress. The eastern bluebird has a musical flight call that often reveals its presence.

I hope my brain kicks in for more posts this week!

I never saw a bluebird in all the years I lived in Louisiana. What a treat to see one on your blog!!!

What a wonderful way to greet the springtime! We sometimes see bluebirds around here in Virginia, but I've never found a nest with eggs in it. Beautiful blues!

How wonderful Judy! I didn't know Blue Birds laid blue eggs! Awesome!!

I used to breed cockatiels. It is really a great experience to see the babies work their way out of the egg. Then it was my job to take them and play Mommy for a few weeks. By hand~feeding the babies myself, they became tame & people~ friendly to go on to be pets. But enough about you! LOL.

Keep us posted! :-)

What a wonderful opportunity you have - to think you might get to witness some hatching activity! I (selfishly) hope you have your camera in your hand if you do.

Love nests, and those eggs are such a beautiful color.
Can't come close to matching that with paint. =0)

Blessings,
Barbara Jean

PS I'm having a giveaway for my 200th post. One of the prizes will be a hand- made bird nest. Not as good as birds do it, but fun to make.

How wonderful to see such beautiful eggs! We don't have blue birds here in Eastern Canada so it is a treat to see yours. BTW, I LOVE the dishes in your header! Thanks for sharing and a belated Happy Blue Monday!
