Outdoors Wednesday - 3/10 - Pear and Crabapple trees
Yippee! It's Outdoor Wednesday again and it couldn't have been a more beautiful day here to get outside. After you check this post out, run over to Susan's at A Southern Daydreamer. She might even have some lemonade made for you to sip while you view!
I didn't manage to get outside today for pics until later in the day. I made sure my camera batteries were charged and off Boudreaux and I went on our adventure.
Here's some pics at a local park. It was stunning with the trees in bloom.
Now I'll be honest, I don't know one tree from another. Mr. Dumpling "thinks" these are crabapple trees. He's usually pretty good but I'm not betting the money in the bank on it.
Regardless, they are gorgeous! And there's something about a white picket fence that just reels me in. Just about anything looks prettier behind a picket fence!
See the little picnic table? We've had numerous picnics here and even some Easter egg hunts when OnlySon was little.
See the little boys? They have their fishing poles and were having a great time.
Don't you love how the evening sun is bouncing off the trees?
I even played around with the macro on my camera. This is before I turned on the macro:
And this is after. Don't you love the effect! See how the flowers just POP and the background is blurred. Love it!
And then the fun began! I was taking a picture of these peach (?) trees when the most beautiful birds flew in to view. Well, I just was a twitter with excitement. I couldn't hardly hold the camera still.
And then...I heard that horrible beep. Acckk, my memory on the camera was FULL! A gorgeous blue bird flew over and joined him on the ground and I couldn't take one picture. Woe is me!
Well, our adventure has come to an end. We're going to stroll down this little path and rest a while.

The trees are soooo pretty right now Judybug! Happy OW!
Judy Bug... lovely! I loved going on that walk with you! And my grandmother used to have a HUGE crabapple tree in her yard (or I thought it was huge), and she always made crabapple jelly! Oh, it was so good!
Hope you are having a better time of things. How is our patient doing? Have been thinking of you. Hope all is much, much better...
Happy OW!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Crab apple jelly is oh so good! Loved your pictures of those crab apple trees. Thanks for the park tour. Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

Dear Judybug,
Thank you for taking us along on your wonderful walk. I so enjoyed seeing such beauty through your eyes. You should go to the library and get a field guide to your local trees. Walks are enhanced when we know the names of our "neighbors."
All the best, Lana @ Showers of Blessings
Very pretty, the park is beautiful as are your pictures. I think without the camera sometimes we miss the beauty to share. Thanks for this Outdoor Wed.

Hi Judy! Great photos! What a nice walk you must have had. The cardinal is so beautiful!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
It's AMAZING how much farther along spring is in the south than up here - - - we're happy to have mud, no snow, and a few tulip sprouts. Today it's only 35 degrees - - - -
Judybug....I most definately will keep you in prayer, keep me posted.
Judybug-- your photos are stunning. I didn't know that was what a macro did. I'll investigate my camera. :) Yes, everything does look darling behind a picket fence.
Loved that walk in the park with you! I especially liked the picture taken with the macro. Love the fuzzy background/ depth of field thing!!! :D Jewel
An absolutely beautiful park! How wonderful of you to share such a lovely spot of nature. :-)
What a beautiful stroll through the park and with blossoms already out. I don't think we even have buds yet!!!
Lucky you to get one picture of the bird. Was it a carinal? I ended up at our sons wedding with my memory card at home in my scanner/printer!!! I was sick to my stomach. Someone ran home 50 miles to get it and by then so much had happened... and I missed capturing it:{
Fun and beautiful post!

Just wonderful. You have really captured that tug on the heart strings that spring elicits. Isn't it great to play with the camera? I miss the burgeoning crab apple and cherry trees here. Thanks so much for this post.
