Tablescape Thursday 2/12 - Down on the Farm

I just love Tablescape Thursday! I love to see pretty dishes, interesting dishes, different dishes, elegant dishes, homey dishes...well, you get the idea. Too see all these and many more, read this post...and then head over to see Susan at Between Naps on the Front Porch.

Although I know I should have done a romantic table, I just couldn't get my mind going on that road today. I have some Valentine decorations I will feature tomorrow for Show and Tell.

Today, I went for comfort...homey...or what I call "down on the farm".

Picture a country table set for breakfast. I love breakfast foods, don't you? I used a rattan type placemat for a country look (Wal-Mart) and my iron lace Charger (eBay).

I've showed these dishes before but it's always fun to combine them with different treasures. These are the Blue Ridge Pottery China in the Ham and Eggs pattern.

Farm tables must have a country crock pitcher filled with milk! (and not that nasty 1% milk I drink every day). This is a Cream and Green Salt Glazed Stoneware Pitcher in the Grazing Cows pattern.

The cup and saucer are the red barn. The saucer is just too cute to be covered up by the cup!

I love roosters. Mr. Dumpling is in the poultry business so chickens and roosters are perfect for my kitchen.

The little white chicken was made by Royal Copley. The chickens and roosters are fairly easy to find but the white is a rare one. These were made in the 40's and 50's.

The napkin ring is a little silver rooster too!

And what's breakfast without eggs? This is an egg scale. You can see my egg is a lightweight (ssshhh, it's fake).

Now be sure to visit all the other's. I bet you will see some lovely romantic ideas for Valentine's Day. Me? I'm making Mr. Dumpling take me out!

Hi there! I was surprised to see your Red Barn dishes. I found one plate years ago and I keep it on display on the wall in my kitchen. I love touches of red in a kitchen. I never knew it was part of a set. LOL

You have a great post. Love the country setting!

All the best, Lana
