Trim the Tree Thursday - Dec. 4, 2008

This is my first Thursday to participate in Trim the Tree Thursday but it looks like fun! Be sure to visit
The Southern Hostess for other participants.

If you're following my blog (and I would like to invite you to do so by clicking on the "Follow Me" button to the left!), you know by now I love, adore, get tingly about sparkle. However, I never forget the Reason for the Season and for me, that's the birth of Christ.

One of my favoite things I use each year is a nativity set. I bought it a number of years ago at Hobby Lobby (I love that store!) on sale after Christmas.

I've used it in various displays through the years...usually on the sideboard in my foyer as shown above and directly below.

This year, I used it on my long foyer table. Here's a few pics of this year:

Check back each Thursday for more Trim the Tree posts. I'll post about my pink and green Hearth room tree and my living room tree in rose, bronze and copper.

Blessings to you and your's this CHRISTmas season!

Hi Judy Bug! So glad to know you have a Mr. Dumplings!! lol Oh, what a beautiful Nativity Set you have and that sideboard, not sure that's what it is, is gorgeous! I've never seen anything quite like it! Oh, I love Hobby Lobby too! I was in there a couple of days ago and everything Christmas was 1/2 price! don't you love that?
Be a sweetie and thanks for coming to see me.

Beautiful nativity. I like how you put the fabric over the lights.
I love Hobby Lobby too. I am avoiding it. I DO not need to go there!

I love how you display your Nativity pieces---on that amazing sideboard with the shear fabric and lights!! Great idea.
I agree with ceekay, and do try to avoid Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, Michaels, etc. I'm weak---I always find something I think I need!

Judy Bug, I like the idea of the lights under the fabric! I might have to try that with my nativity scene. Great idea! My nativity is one of my absolute favorite things. I got it at Sam's Club years ago (wish it had more pieces)but it looks like Lladro. I'm just glad it didn't cost nearly as much!

Wonderful nativity & you have it displayed so beautifully! I love Hobby Lobby too but am proud to say that I haven't been it even once this year. My goal this year was to get rid of stuff not buy more. ;o)

Happy Trim a Tree Thursday!

What an absolutely gorgeous Nativity scene. We finally bought our first one this year (and we are both in our 70s). We certainly didn't rush into it, did we?

Hi Judy Bug! I really like your nativity. I'm on a quest to purchase a larger one this year. Ours is a little wooden set we've had for years. What fun pieces you own to display it on...

That nativity set is gorgeous! BTW, you too can have a Christmas transferware plate!! They are Johnson Bros., and I found mine at Marshall's; but I also think that TJ Maxx had them. Sally
