Today, let's talk about china. No, not the country China but china dishes. I am so addicted to pretty china and I'm fortunate to have plenty of storage in the fairly new house.
I looked through some of my dishes and today, my Salem china caught my eye. This particular pattern uses a variety of Godey print images in the center of each plate.
I started collecting this a number of years ago. It started with a large set of the regular Salem Godey China dishes. I was lucky to find numerous pieces including dinner plates, fruit bowls, cups and saucers, etc. I love to use them in February because they have such a nice romantic feel to them.
This is the basic set in one of the china cabinets. This is the mark on the back of the plates which were made during the 1940's. 
As I started researching the dishes, I discovered the chargers were also made. The Chargers come in a variety of colors...and of course, I NEEDED them. If you follow my posts, you will come to realize there is a difference in WANT and NEED. NEED is I can't resist...I want them now!
I've added numerous charges in rust, maroon, two shades of green, pink, navy and medium blue. Just for fun, I've done several different place settings with a few of the colors to show the variety of this pattern.
In this setting, I used an ivory beaded round place mat, a metallic green charger, and a pink Salem Godey print charge with gold filigree trim. The green goblet was my mother's and were on our Thanksgiving table for as long as I remember. The silver is First Love.
Here's a few other ways to display the pink using Pink Depression glass in the Adam pattern and pink Depression shakers.
The green charges are a lovely shade of green and mix well with my Green Fruits Depression glass and serving pieces.
I don't use a much blue in decorating but I do like to pull out some of my blue opalescent glass and it mixes well with the blue chargers. Shown in the blue setting is a blue opalescent pickle castor and blue opalescent sugar shaker.
