June Tea Party w/Lefton Rose Chintz

We’re going to have a tea party today! It’s not unbearably hot in the mornings. Let’s head out to the table.

Have a seat…I’ll turn on the ceiling fan just in case you get warm. The table is set with my Lefton Rose Chintz dishes. Made by Lefton starting in the 1960’s, this is one of my favorite Lefton patterns.


I’m using the Lefton snack plates. Some call them “Tea and Toast” plates and I really like that better.

Love the little bone dishes. Yes, I realize we have no bones at a tea party but I wanted to use them. They will serve as individual “wastebaskets” for the paper from the petit fours.

The vintage wicker tea cart was a find at Round Top, TX Antique show. Gosh, I love that place!! If you haven’t been, you are missing out!

I don’t have a Rose Chintz teapot so I’m using the coffee pot. I hope Emily Post isn’t rolling over somewhere.



Notice the yoyo table topper? I made that! Yes, I really did. One day, I’ll show you some of my yoyo crafts. I’m working on some pillow covers now for a wicker settee….easy peasy I tell you.
For the center of the table today, I used a vintage Plateau, cake plate and some silk flowers from Raz. I love almost everything Raz makes! I found these in Canton, TX…another place I adore to shop.

Let’s take a closer look at my Royal Doulton miniature ladies. Aren’t they just the cutest thing?

We should be having cucumber sandwiches. I really do love them but, eh, well, I ate the cucumbers yesterday. (blush) So, we will  have coconut cake and  petit fours and tea.


The delicate crocheted napkins also came from Canton. I’m using some of the mother-of-pearl flatware and mother-of-pearl napkin rings (eBay).
I must mention that Boudreaux has been complaining about this blogging taking too much time. Poor baby…this is how pitiful he can look:

I promised I would try to blog during his nap time and I would try to include him in the blog.   And I thought OnlySon was spoiled!

Show and Tell Friday - 3/27 - Spring and Bunnies!

It's Show and Tell Friday again! Kelly at There is No Place Like Home probably has a lot of bloggers just waiting to show off a treasure!

It's been quite a week here. Terrible storms these last few days. Trees are down everywhere! No electricity but fortunately we had a generator for basics. Worst of all, NO internet service. I thought I was dying. My hands were trembling. It just came back on so this will be a quick post. It's my bedtime!

It is definitely Spring here. My grass is so green and everything is budding. It's Spring inside too! I change my foyer table for the seasons and it's all ready for Easter!



I love the shades of these eggs and they go perfect with my other aqua colors.



I have these beads in at least 5 colors and I love to use them. These are aqua and soft green.



I found my yellow opalescent Vaseline glass candleholders while clearing things out last week. They are perfect here!



Walk around the corner and let's look in the Hearth Room. I also change the bookshelf next to the mantel for the seasons and it's Spring and bunnies!



I love the little bunnies. They are a set of 3. I bought them 100 years ago at Hobby Lobby. This year, I put a little pink and green ribbon on his neck.




See his little crackle finish?



The little girls are just adorable. This has a sparkle to it and looks like an old fashioned postcard. I bought it in Canton several years ago.



This is on the table by my chair. I love to drink my coffee and look at something pretty. This is my little brown bunny. He really is a Peter Cottontail. he's made by Raz. I have fallen in love with this company!



I started out with my pink Bordallo cake plate from Marshall's ($7.99).



Then a Wal-Mart glass plate to give me some width.



See the texture! I love that about him.




And his little basket is just perfect for ivy.



Since we're talking about bunnies, how many of you remember Bugs Bunny? Since I'm a Southern Belle, here's Bugs Bunny in Dixie. I truly do love my Yankee, I mean Northern friends and family! ;-)

Pink Saturday - 3/21 - Pink Tea Room Depression glass

Happy Pink Saturday! I can just feel the PINKNESS in the air! Pink Saturday is hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

Today, I think we'll look at some Depression Glass. I know you probably have a million things to do today and time's a wastin'. There's milk to churn, fields to plow, beans to pick, meals to cook, bread to bake...hmm, would you guess I've been reading an Amish novel?



Anyway, back to Depression glass. For Spring, I love to pull out the pink Depression glass. I cleaned off the coffee table in living room and decided on my Pink Depression Tea Room flared vase.





This is such a lovely piece. Tea Room was made by Indiana Glass form 1925 to 1931. It is one of the earliest Depression Glass patterns.



Aren't the little bunnies cute? They came from Hobby Lobby several years ago.





Pink Depression glass is so hard to photograph. The color just seems to wash out but it's really a gorgeous color!

I stumbled across this set in Canton, TX. If you've never been to First Monday in Canton, you've missed a whole "nother" world! This has been going on for over 150 years. Here's a great story in Country Living magazine. I hope to be there next month.
