Outdoor Wed - 3/4 - Plants and more plants!

I love Outdoor Wednesday. Everyone is so creative in what you find...even in the midst of winter for some. Susan is the hostess over at A Southern Daydreamer.

Well, we're almost through with our arbor project. I hope I haven't bored you to tears with this! We added plants this past week.

We went to the nursery to browse which isn't how we usually do things. We typically have a plan and are seeking specific plants. This time...not so much.

We found some gorgeous yew which was already potted. They are huge! I love that they give the landscape a look of being there a while. We took one out of the pot (which had been broken).

The other one we placed on the far side of the arbor. I love the age on the urn. I will add my mother's bird bath and a concrete bench I've had forever.

We also planted abelia. Love the glossy leaves!

A double bloom red Knock-out tree rose. Our's looks like this:

But it will look like this one day...I hope!

We added three of the new Sunny Knock-out roses. Ours -

Eventually -

My daylilies are coming up like gangbusters!

We hope to hit another nursery this weekend to add a Climbing Pinkie rose and purple clematis to the arbor.

See you tomorrow for Tablescape Thursday!

Girl, I have to tell you that I am jealous. Your yard looks great. I didn't know there was a knock-out rose tree. I hope our snow melts quickly so that I start seeing some signs of spring. Love the urn in which you planted the shrub.

Oh, how beautiful! Can't wait to see the finished projects done and blooms budding out (is it ever really, finished).
You have inspired me.
After I read and comment on my fav blogs, I'm out to the yard for the wheelbarrow, shovel, etc.

Never bored....always waiting to see what is next. I enjoyed how you showed what the plant looked like when you planted it and what it will look like later. Interesting thought process you have. Happy Outdoor Wednesday!

I love all the plants you are using, especially the roses. Roses are my favorite flower. At one time I had 45 rose bushes, but my neighbors bamboo overtook them and I had to relocate them and they didn't do so well. Now I have 6. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Elizabeth

Oh, you do not bore me with the photos of the arbor! I have been thinking I may do similar, if we do not move. I already have an abundant climbing rose to train over it. Shush--haven't told DH yet.

So glad to find your site!
