Tablescape Thursday - 2/5 - Silver and Cream!

Today is Tablescape Thursday. Yes, Thursday! After you read my very short post today, head over to Between Naps on the Front Porch for more ideas than you can shake a stick at!

Today has been a busy day between running errands and getting things together. My very dear Daddy who is 81 is having surgery tomorrow. Please pray that all goes well. He hasn't been in good health for quite a while.

So, I didn't really do a new Tablescape. I promise I'll do better next week!

This is a table I did in 2006 for January. Borrowing an idea, I created a tiered centerpiece using cake plates I already owned. You can see a variety of things in there such as silver hearts, cream colored cupids, silver fruits, crystal prisms, etc. Be sure to click on the picture to see an enlarged photo.

The crystal candle holder on top was a gift. I wish I could find more!!

I used silver sequined placemats I got on sale at Dillards. Notice the little crumber on the right. I just love these. Now if I just had a butler who would use it to keep the crumbs off the table. I found this in a little shop in Arkansas. It is monogrammed with an "R" which was my maiden name initial!

Hopefully, I'll be back tomorrow and put together a post for "Show and Tell". Hmm, what shall I show?

You and your dad will be in my prayers.

I did enlarge your photo, so I could really see all of the lovely things in your centerpiece. It looks like it would provide a lot of conversation as well as beauty -- just looking at and talking about all of those pretty treasures. laurie

I hope everything goes well for your father. If it makes you feel any better, my dad had surgery this morning, and he is doing fine. Your centerpiece is pretty. I'm not sure in which part of the south you live, but I thought those candles were sold at a store called Belks...I'm saying you might be able to find them there, if there's one in your area.
