Show and Tell Friday - Bargains!! 1/16/2009

Kelli, over at "There is no Place like Home" is hosting Show and Tell Friday today. Be sure to visit her blog for a list of all the participants. You just never know what you might find!

I love a bargain! I can't resist a bargain! This is why I rarely go shopping anymore due to my lack of willpower. I can just imagine how lovely each item would be and where it would go. Why then, would I want to leave that pretty little thing at the store?

Well, after showing remarkable restraint through Dec., I went shopping last weekend. I found some lovely treasures at dirt cheap prices. Yes, I said DIRT CHEAP!

Here's some of my bargains:

At Hobby Lobby, Christmas was 80% off. I bought these two tan colored Santa's to go in my guest room. I love how detailed they are even on the back.

I purchased several other things I didn't unwrap like frosted snow people in lavender and pink (lovely) and 5 packages of crystal icicles.

Also, I bought the cutest glass jar with a lid that has "LOVE" etched on it. I'll use it for a variety of things. Today, I put a votive inside and added red hots around it.

The red bowls in the above picture are from Wal-Mart - on sale for $4.50!

Next stop...Michael's. Besides all the flowers I bought, I found these cute little amber etched votive cups. They work just great on my living room mantle.

Last stop was Penney's where I found my best bargain. I have been wanting the flameless candles for the table in my foyer. What I had found was just too expensive. Well...I found them! They had been $100 originally and were marked down to 27.90. I had to have them! Along with them, I picked up the two mercury glass votives. I just love the scroll design.

NOW, here's the good news. When I went to pay, the flameless candles were only $17.00. Woohoo!

You did find some goodies. I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and Christmas is now 90% off. Most of the stuff was kind of damaged though. I need to get out there too - time to start on my gift stash again. :)

Great finds. You really got a great deal on the flameless candles. The ones I have seen are pretty pricey.

You did find some great buys! I really like those bowls from Walmart but ours didn't have any. I even checked out two other stores that are not to far from here, and no luck :0(.
Oooo, love that little "love" jar. Perfect for V-day!

Judy! You sound just like me. If I stay home I don't do any damage. When my husband tells me I need to get out more I tell him to extend my credit line :-)
I have only been to Hobby Lobby once to buy fabric and I had to stay clear of all the goodies!
Have a great weekend. Love all your great purchases ;-D

Thanks for your suggestions! I never thought of a jar with flour. I love that idea. I know I have a small one somewhere that I can try out.
You're lucky to have found those bowls. I looked all over and couldn't find any. I am still a bit bummed about that but happy you found yours. I'm going to try the flour thing now :0)
"See" you soon!
